Everyday Silver

Good Bones | Everyday Silver

A night of fun and dancing over the weekend resulted in the disappearance of one half of my favorite pair of earrings (seen here). For the longest time they were the only earrings I wore, and lately I’ve rotated between those, a mismatched pair of studs from Jujumade, and a lovely bone set from my best friend. It’s unfortunate to no longer have what I consider a staple, one of those pieces that effortlessly elevates an ensemble and makes me feel comfortable on the most bland of days. Earrings (and jewelry in general) are those things I love often but rarely buy because I already have the pair. The good news is there’s an enormous amount of beautiful and timeless work coming from independent makers and designers so if I’m patient I can find something that speaks to me just as strongly. I’m considering a more delicate pair this go-round, smaller, possibly even a single ear cuff. I love these for their sexy, subtle edge, perfect for the everyday accent.

A Few Things

// I’ve been wearing this oversized denim jacket so much. It looks good with everything and makes picking out what to wear simple. I can’t wait to throw it on with my favorite dresses during the summer. Bare legs, I miss you.

// Many tacos were consumed last week. This breakfast variety was a favorite. I love meals I can whip up using whatever’s in the fridge. Salads and omelets have been on heavy rotation as well for the same reason.

// I’m working my way through The Book of Strange New Things by Michel Faber. I love the design, the detail of the gilded pages (which I didn’t get in the shot). The premise–pastor sharing the gospel with beings on another planet, creepy/mysterious corporation establishing a colony, life on earth increasingly disastrous, etc–is certainly intriguing and I’m very curious to find out how it ends.
