I wore this outfit on a warm Thanksgiving Day, ready to indulge in good food and company. Aside from feeling comfortable after eating multiple helpings of a delicous meal, I knew I wanted to look and feel like myself with a quick and easy outfit that wasn’t without intention. No brand has offered that feeling in terms of design and philosophy more than Elizabeth Suzann. These items, perfectly wrinkled and broken in, are what I reach for when I’m not feeling my best so that I can feel my best. They are elegant, timeless, versatile, and truly comfortable and comforting. I’m looking forward to my Clyde Pants arriving soon!

Outfit posts aren’t frequent here because stepping in front of the camera isn’t something I feel entirely comfortable doing (plus my husband takes my photos and we rarely both have time for it). But I’m making an effort to document everyday looks a little more. We’re still having a mix of warm and cold days so this denim-on-denim number is a nice option for a typical Fall that can’t seem to make up its mind. These are all old pieces I truly love and wear all the time (shopping new often just isn’t my life). I’m all about neutrals with a little bit of intrigue so the quilted jacket + pinstripe jeans + camel tee combination is just right.

The Summer of the Black Dress

My philosophy when it comes to getting dressed during the summer is, “the easier, the better.” I’ve always been a fan of one-pieces, particularly the comfort and ease of a black dress. In my case, loose fitting and lately more of a midi length. It’s my signature, what I feel most confident in, and the one thing I don’t think I can have too many of. I’ve been reaching for this beautiful woven cotton number by UZI again and again these last several months. I wear it all the time–to church, art shows, the grocery store, on vacation, anywhere. The dress is functional thanks to its pockets and breathable shape but not without interest in the form of the loveliest draped neckline. This setting from a recent trip (more on that soon!) made it hard not to snap a few photos of one of my favorite pieces in action. Another I added to my closet this season is the Twist Tee Dress by Objects Without Meaning, purchased via Garmentory for a steal. Temperatures won’t start cooling down here for a long while but I’m looking forward to wearing the versatile and always polished black dresses I’ve been collecting well into the fall season.

The best part about a uniform is that you don’t have to think too much or worry about what to wear. This Black Crane jumper I’ve been living in recently (birthday money and a code for $100 off made it hard to pass up!) definitely fits the criterion. The bold full-length stripes are not what I typically think I can turn into an ordinary, everyday look, but it’s surprisingly suited for wearing again and again no matter what the occasion. Not to mention it’s one of the most flattering and comfortable things I’ve ever worn. That wrap around the waist is a dream! Paired with my trusted and well worn clogs and sleek staple studs from Drift Riot (a gift for my birthday) and you’ve got a put together and easy ensemble I never want to take off. Cheers to the uniform.

This particular outfit has been on heavy rotation since my husband bought me a beautiful sweater by Achro for Christmas (and these Levi’s have hardly been taken off since I bought them in Cincinnati). The thick ribbing and detail on the collar plus the modern charcoal grey color have made it my go-to for the more frequent chilly days. It’s the perfect addition to my collection of elevated basics–sophisticated and elegant with heels yet comfortable enough for lounging on the couch, even when your couch is currently being stored at your dusty and unfinished home renovation. I still feel totally at ease and warm no matter where I am.

Hands down, this bleached denim top is the best thing in my closet. Ashley’s whole collection is an absolute dream and I can’t wait to get my hands on the perfect dress too.
