The best part about a uniform is that you don’t have to think too much or worry about what to wear. This Black Crane jumper I’ve been living in recently (birthday money and a code for $100 off made it hard to pass up!) definitely fits the criterion. The bold full-length stripes are not what I typically think I can turn into an ordinary, everyday look, but it’s surprisingly suited for wearing again and again no matter what the occasion. Not to mention it’s one of the most flattering and comfortable things I’ve ever worn. That wrap around the waist is a dream! Paired with my trusted and well worn clogs and sleek staple studs from Drift Riot (a gift for my birthday) and you’ve got a put together and easy ensemble I never want to take off. Cheers to the uniform.

This particular outfit has been on heavy rotation since my husband bought me a beautiful sweater by Achro for Christmas (and these Levi’s have hardly been taken off since I bought them in Cincinnati). The thick ribbing and detail on the collar plus the modern charcoal grey color have made it my go-to for the more frequent chilly days. It’s the perfect addition to my collection of elevated basics–sophisticated and elegant with heels yet comfortable enough for lounging on the couch, even when your couch is currently being stored at your dusty and unfinished home renovation. I still feel totally at ease and warm no matter where I am.

Winter Wishes

Winter Wishes | Good Bones

Winter Wishes | Good Bones

I’m a gift giver at heart, so finding thoughtful presents for our loved ones is a fun task I look forward to every year at Christmas (even when it’s daunting to pick out the right gift for David!). It becomes even more special because we have another opportunity to support independent shops, designers, and makers, something that’s very important to us. I always seem to revise my own wishlist in the process, so here’s a little bit of Christmas dreaming.

//Black Crane long pleats dress.
//Hasami teapot because I’ve mostly given up coffee and finally embraced this chilly weather that’s perfect for tea drinking.
//Primecut Palomino pouch.
//RMS lip2cheek in Illusive, a beautiful, rich color for winter.
//Drift Riot’s line studs are the minimal, elegant earrings of my dreams.
//David and I could both use a catch-all to keep our everyday items organized and this Billykirk leather tray would be a gorgeous solution.
//My skin needs all the help it can get during the winter months and I’m eager to try this Glossier face mask.
//I’ve been on the hunt for a coat that I can wear over bulkier tops but continue to come up short. Lauren Manoogian’s Capote coat is forever out of my price range but forever one of my favorites.
//Fort Standard + Areaware balancing blocks.
//New Balance 620 sneakers in all white, comfort and style for days.

Everyday Silver

Good Bones | Everyday Silver

A night of fun and dancing over the weekend resulted in the disappearance of one half of my favorite pair of earrings (seen here). For the longest time they were the only earrings I wore, and lately I’ve rotated between those, a mismatched pair of studs from Jujumade, and a lovely bone set from my best friend. It’s unfortunate to no longer have what I consider a staple, one of those pieces that effortlessly elevates an ensemble and makes me feel comfortable on the most bland of days. Earrings (and jewelry in general) are those things I love often but rarely buy because I already have the pair. The good news is there’s an enormous amount of beautiful and timeless work coming from independent makers and designers so if I’m patient I can find something that speaks to me just as strongly. I’m considering a more delicate pair this go-round, smaller, possibly even a single ear cuff. I love these for their sexy, subtle edge, perfect for the everyday accent.
