Now that the new season is here I’m looking forward to getting out and having some fun despite the triple digit temperatures we’re already having. Here are a few pretty things to go along with my plans for a well-spent summer.

 // A blanket for picnics in the shade and jazz in the park.
// I didn’t go swimming once last year so my goal is to correct that this summer. I’d love to sport this swimsuit for dips in the pool and hopefully a trip to the beach.
// David and some friends started a chess club at our bookstore and it’s been fun to watch everyone play. I’m interested in learning how, with a beautiful and minimal chess set, of course.
// The perfect summer tee.
// A good book for lazy days and nights.
// Versatile and comfortable woven shoes for those hot days I don’t want to think too hard about what to wear.
// Statement earrings to elevate all the easy summer dresses I’ve been wearing.
// I’ve always been convinced I’m not a hat person, but this beauty from Brookes Boswell has me changing my tune.
// The moisturizer to end all moisturizers. This one has been doing wonders for my skin (I use it as both a moisturizer and a cleanser) and I plan to keep it in my small but powerful arsenal for a subtle summer glow.

Brian Paquette's Seattle Condo

Considering I’ve drooled over Brian Paquette’s previous Seattle home on FvF countless times, I can’t believe I missed the condo he designed for himself in this Domino feature from last year.

I’ve always been intrigued by a physical move–a chance to take the same objects and give them new life in a new space, to reinvent. The cool, limited color palette, earthy ceramics, and unique art speak volumes to me. He’s created such intriguing and cozy layers throughout the space that I’m scheming up ways to reimagine my own. Brian’s collection of ceramic wares from some of my favorite artists, like Morgan Peck, Ben Medansky, and Bari Ziperstein, gets me every time. If ever there were a time to have house envy, this would be it. Though his interior design work tends to be more clean and put together than my home, I find his aesthetic incredibly relatable and dripping with personality, even here in a new build. Refined and elegant without being cold and unattainable. I can’t wait to see what Brian does next.

Sadie Culberson

I recently discovered the evocative work of Sadie Culberson, a wedding and portrait photographer based in Asheville, North Carolina. Culberson’s visual storytelling through artfully captured portraits, candid moments, and landscapes resonates with me in the most familiar and grand way. I feel a beautiful intimacy in these images–a soothing gracefulness mixed with a sense of splendor.

All is living, shifting art that takes my breath away. Nothing starves for attention or is too flashy, but quaint and rhythmic. This where I see beauty. –Sadie Culberson Studios

She has certainly made a follower out of me. Find more of her stirring images here.
