Summer done right at Need Supply Co.
Lately I’ve been feeling so thankful. Thankful for a morning off with my husband, catching up with a sweet friend, our nieces and nephews, opportunities to learn and grow creatively, the courage to break from my comfort zone and seek to know others, broken relationships now restored–especially, especially this. God continues to work in me–changing my heart, convicting me, drawing me nearer to him, helping me love others and receive the love offered to me with gratitude, gentleness, and grace. Things I cannot hope to do on my own. The Lord is always faithful.
In a few days I’ll be heading to the hospital for another surgery and I’m glad to have these reminders of God’s mercies to take along with me.
This week has mostly been about taking it easy, and perhaps eating a little too much ice cream. I had another procedure Monday and haven’t done much since but try to manage my discomfort. Down time is always needed–a moment to put your feet up, collect your thoughts, and assess what’s behind and ahead of you. I appreciate those moments of planning and reflecting. Last weekend was especially busy–multiple store events, celebrating my sister’s 30th birthday, spending time with my parents–so doing less the last couple days has been good for me.
The coming days and weeks will see a lot of effort on my part to re-establish routines. Life hasn’t been following a familiar rhythm, unless that rhythm is chaos, so my intention is to get back to normal. Even things as ordinary as walking the dogs regularly has been missing from my day-to-day. Aside from going to an art show, my plans for the weekend are to go for a few runs and clean the house from top to bottom. We’re hoping to have friends over for dinner before we move so I’ve got pretty good incentive. I picked up these flowers to brighten my mood and motivate me. There really is something special about fresh flowers in your favorite vase–the room is instantly more cheerful and inviting. I’m grateful. Here’s to a productive, rewarding, and totally routine weekend.
Things are coming together. It’s so nice to see visible progress after several months of more subtle work. All I talk about these days is the renovation, but I can’t help it. It might not seem like much, but to us it’s night and day compared to how the house started out. I’m obsessed with the white walls and refinished floors. It’s all so light and open and definitely starting to feel real. I can envision it all in my head and may have made drawings and lists of where each piece of furniture and art will likely go, because that’s not weird at all.
rug | caftan | arc studs | shoes
I missed the chance to snatch up this Emerson Fry caftan on super sale the other week and David and I are both bummed about it. A gal can still dream. I’m really into subtle pinks and rose shades right now and can’t get over how incredible these GUR rugs are (found via Miss Moss). Worthy of hanging on the wall, for sure.
